Workshop BIPV: Learn How to Leverage Solar Innovations to Generate More Value
Discover BIPV: a workshop on solar-integrated buildings with expert talks for hands-on learning and collaboration.
This event aims to introduce Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) technology, emphasizing its role in transforming buildings into energy producers and providing field experience.
Target audience:
The workshop will bring together both construction and PV worlds: architects, construction professionals, PV installers, electricians or roofers as well as BIPV experts.

The workshop will provide a comprehensive introduction to BIPV, including updates on available products, cost considerations, and key technical and regulatory aspects.
The session will provide (i) a comprehensive introduction to BIPV, its pros and cons, updates on available products, cost considerations, and key technical and regulatory aspects as well as (ii) insights on practical implementation from different types of stakeholders:
- Philippe MACÉ, COO at Becquerel Institute
- Stefan DEWALLEF, R&D Manager at Soltech NV
"BIPV experiences, point of view from a manufacturer. Market/product/price: progress made the last years." - Jean-Didier STEENACKERS, Architect & Solar Designer at Sunsoak Design
- Stéphane PIERRET, Founder & Managing Director at Optimal Computing
- Dominique DERAMAIX, Architect & Director at Format D2
These experts will share their insights and field experience from real-world projects, followed by open discussions.
The workshop will conclude with a networking lunch, offering participants the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas.
This workshop is an initiative of the Seamless-PV and Increase Projects,
funded by the Horizon Europe research programme.
Seamless-PV
Seamless-PV drives the implementation of advanced integrated photovoltaics in different market sectors. It also develop a set of IPV products demonstrating high-efficiency, cost-competitiveness and compliance with market requirements referencing standardisation frameworks.
Increase
Increase focuses on innovations in PV module design, coatings, and operation guidelines to enhance aesthetics, reduce glare, and improve environmental impact and fire resistance. It also explores IPV facade, roof concepts, and noise barriers, providing practical guidance through pilots and rigorous testing.
